Olympic champion in ice dancing Tatyana Navka spoke about the rehabilitation of Roman Kostomarov. Her words are quoted by TASS.
“Roman Kostomarov works out every day, does two workouts. getting ready [к протезированию]. He is strong, and I believe that everything will be fine, I have no doubt. The dynamics are positive,” Navka said.
Earlier on June 20, the 112 Telegram channel announced that Kostomarov had refused to work with a psychologist. It was also noted that Kostomarov is regularly brought prostheses for trial fitting, but it is difficult for him to be in them due to weak muscles and tissue healing after operations.
On June 5, it was reported that Kostomarov would remain in the hospital until the end of the summer. It also became known that prosthetics for Kostomarov are planned to be carried out in Russia with the involvement of foreign specialists.
Kostomarov was admitted to the hospital on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to the prolonged connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die. According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, the doctors had to amputate both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire right hand and several fingers of the left.
