Without Messi and with a great goal by Paredes, Argentina beats Indonesia in a friendly

In its second friendly on this Fifa Date, the Argentina traveled to Indonesia to face the home team at the Gelora Bung Karano stadium in Jakarta. The current world champion won this Monday’s duel by 2-0, thanks to goals from Leandro Paredes and Cristian Romero.

With the result, Argentina achieved victories in its two commitments in Asia. Last Thursday, Lionel Scaloni’s men played against Australia in Beijing, China, and also won by 2-0.

The South Americans did not have forwards Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria for the match. The two were starters in the last friendly and were spared by the coaching staff, not even appearing among the reserves on the bench.

The game

Argentina prevailed in the match from the start and had the best chances in the first half. In the 28th minute, Buonannote recovered the ball in the attack, dribbled the goalkeeper and finished, but Baggott saved on top of the line. Álvarez got the rebound, but Ari spread it to the bottom line.

The Argentines’ goal only came out at 38, when Paredes received from Palácios in midfield and took a chance in the middle. The midfielder hit the ball hard and it hit the goalkeeper’s left corner, with no chance of defense.

The second goal came only 10 minutes into the second half. After a corner kick by Lo Celso, Romero appeared unmarked in the small area and headed into the back of the net.
