Jeff Monson said that Alexander Emelianenko is now receiving medical assistance
Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Jeff Monson announced health problems with Alexander Emelianenko after the previous fight. His words are quoted by Match TV.
“Now he is getting the medical care he needs. Many people have been using it for a long time to make money from it. They didn’t care about him as a person,” Monson said. He added that their duel, scheduled for August, is canceled – another opponent will be selected for him.
On the night of May 27, Emelianenko defeated blogger Yevgeny Ershov in Moscow. The fight ended at the 20th second of the second round, when the MMA fighter applied a painful hold.
In total, 41-year-old Alexander Emelianenko had 39 fights in MMA, in which he won 28 victories and suffered 10 defeats. Another fight with his participation ended in a draw.
52-year-old Monson is known for his performances in MMA and grappling. He has 60 wins and 26 losses in mixed martial arts.
