Raphinha will not continue Barcelona next season. Despite the rumors about a possible sale in this transfer window and the supposed interest of Newcastlethe Brazilian reaffirmed his desire to stay in Xavi’s squad.
“I will continue at Barça next season and the next and the following. I have many years on my contract and I hope to fulfill these years and many more. Barcelona is a city that I love. We Brazilians are very happy here”, said Raphinha in an interview the magazine Sportsman’s Club.
The winger also admitted that his first six months with Barcelona were difficult. “It was the beginning of the season in which I scored few goals, had few assists and did not have a direct participation in the team. But, soon, I began to adapt better. My teammates helped me a lot”, he said.
The Brazilian also stated that Barcelona’s main objective for next season is to win the Champions League and said that Xavi “knows perfectly how Barça play and knew what he could do with this group”.
Raphinha arrived at Barcelona in July 2022. The striker came from Leeds United and cost around €55 million, plus another €10 million in variables (R$342.5 million, in total), to the Catalan club’s coffers.
