Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Alexander Shlemenko assessed the likelihood of a fight against heavyweight Alexander Emelianenko. It is reported by Sport24.
The 37-year-old former Bellator champion admitted that he sees no point in fighting 40-year-old Emelianenko from a sporting point of view. However, Shlemenko admitted that he would go into a cage against a heavyweight if the latter allowed himself to be insulted.
“If he challenges him, starts insulting on the Internet and wants to beat him up, then we’ll fight. But it will be purely masculine, ”he noted. The head of AMC Fight Nights Kamil Hajiyev is interested in the confrontation.
At the AMC Fight Nights 106 tournament in Syktyvkar, Emelianenko suffered his second defeat in MMA in a row, losing to Marcio Santos. The Russian replaced Vyacheslav Vasilevsky in the tournament. He lost in the first round by submission.
In July 2020, Emelianenko lost to Magomed Ismailov. Then the heavyweight was defeated by knockout.
