French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday that he would put “pressure” on Les Bleus star Kylian Mbappé to remain in the Paris Saint Germainwith whom the striker has a contract until June 2024.
Asked by a young PSG fan during an event in the French capital, Macron said he had no new news about Mbappé’s situation, but assured that he would “try to put pressure on” to get him to stay at the club.
LIES…❌
At the same time, the bigger it is, the more it passes. I have already said that I will continue next season at PSG where I am very happy. https://t.co/QTsoBQvZKU— Kylian Mbappé (@KMbappe) June 13, 2023
The player informed the board last Monday that he will remain at the Parc des Princes next season, but will not activate the clause that extends his contract for another year, until June 2025.
This decision opened all kinds of speculation about his future, including a possible departure in the current transfer window so that the French club does not lose the striker for free next year.
Mbappé is focused on the selection of the France for the games against Gibraltar next Friday, and Greece, three days later, for the qualifiers for the eurocup of 2024.
