Jorge Jesus talks about leading the Brazilian National Team and reveals his dream: “Playing a World Cup”

Jorge Jesus landed in Portugal this Tuesday after announcing that he will not continue in charge of Fenerbahçe. In a press conference after leaving the airport, the coach explained the reason for not staying in Turkey and revealed his career dream.

“The dream is to try to play in a world championship with national teams, that’s all. I’ve been to other competitions. I’ve never been to a world tournament. Let’s see what happens until the end of the month, I don’t know either”, he began.

“I’ve been to the Champions League and the Europa League. I wanted to make Fenerbahçe feel that I wasn’t leaving the team for anything, but for a differentiated competition. Fenerbahçe were very affectionate, they even made me a tribute dinner”, added the Portuguese.

When approached the subject about commanding the Brazilian National Team, Jorge Jesus did not dodge the answer, however he said that he was never sought after.

“No one from Brazil has ever spoken to me, let’s not speculate. They have never spoken to me”, he declared.

Finally, the coach said that he is studying some proposals that came from Saudi Arabia, since he had “several proposals and polls”.

The 68-year-old coach, three times Portuguese champion for the Benfica and that took the Flamengo to the title of Libertadores Cup 2019 managed to give Fenerbahçe their first trophy in nine years.

However, the Istanbul club, second in the Super Lig behind Galatasaray, have not won the Turkish championship since 2014. Upon arriving at the club at the start of the season, Jorge Jesus was praised by the local press, but had been receiving criticism due to some decisions
