The striker of Barcelona Robert Lewandowski commented on Monday about the possibility of playing in Saudi football next season. The Pole, however, closed that door for the moment and committed himself to the Catalan club.
“There is no such topic, so I don’t think about it. Especially since my contract is still on for a while. I see what’s going on [na Arábia Saudita], but I don’t care. At the moment, I have other priorities,” Lewandowski told the Polish newspaper Sport Interia.
Recently, big names in world football have been negotiating with Saudi clubs. Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing at Al-Nassr since January, while Karim Benzema has just signed with Al-Ittihad and N’golo Kanté is also close to signing with the current Ballon d’Or winner’s new team.
This season, his first with Barcelona, Lewandowski played 46 games, scored 33 goals and distributed eight assists. In addition, the Pole was a key player in Barça winning La Liga for the first time since 2018-19.
