The Eritrean cyclist Intermarché-Circus Biniam Girmay ha cattle this Monday the second stage of the Tour of Switzerland 2023which has been decided sprintin Nottwil, ahead of the French Groupama-FDJ Arnaud Démare and from the Belgian Jumbo-Visma Wout van Aert, second and third, respectively, at the finish line. In the general classification, the Swiss from Groupama-FDJ Stefan Küng continues as the leader of the race, with the Belgian from Soudal-Quick Step Remco Evenepoel second, five seconds behind, and Van Aert third, six, after a stage in which Alex Aranburu (Movistar) has been classified in a remarkable eighth position.

Girmay has had a good season, which began with a stage victory in the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana; he has added several outstanding positions, and, at 23 years old, he aims to be a runner with great projection. In this second stage of the Tour of Switzerland, he has won with great superiority, against two men, Démare and Van Aert, with a lot of experience and full of strength in the sprints. His victory was undeniable, and it was greeted with great joy by a group of Eritrean fans who were at the finish line and who had the opportunity to celebrate with him.
