Berlusconi bought Milan in 1986 and revived the club that had been relegated twice in the decade. With big signings and a billionaire investment, the Rossoneri conquered the Champions League in the 1988/89 season.
The media entrepreneur commanded Milan for 31 years, where he won eight Italian Championships and five Champions. Brazilian players like Ronaldo Fenômeno, Kaká, Cafu and Dida passed through the Italian club and were part of the winning season.
In 2017, Berlusconi sold Milan to a Chinese investment fund for around 740 million euros and left the Rossoneri presidency. The following year, the businessman bought Monza. The club was in the third tier of Italian football until reaching Serie A last season.
“A void that can never be filled, forever with us. Thank you for everything President”, declared the CEO of Monza, Adriano Galliani.
