UFC bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes announces her retirement
Brazilian champion Amanda Nunez of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the bantamweight and featherweight divisions has announced her retirement.
In the main event of the evening at UFC 289, the athlete defeated Mexican Irene Aldana by unanimous decision. “Today is an amazing night to leave,” Nunes said after the fight and put gloves on canvas to two championship belts.
During her career, the 35-year-old Nunes won 23 victories and suffered five losses. Irene Aldana has 14 wins and seven losses.
In the second most important meeting of the evening, Brazilian fighter Charles Oliveira defeated American Beneil Dariush. The Brazilian won by technical knockout in the first round, breaking Dariush’s streak of eight won fights.
