Haaland says he doesn’t feel like the “most valuable player in the world”

The striker of Manchester City Erling Haaland gave a press conference this Thursday, on the eve of the decision of the Champions League, and talked about the incredible season he is living. The 22-year-old Norwegian has scored an incredible 52 goals in 52 games in his first year with the Citizens.

However, when asked about his importance to City and his individual talent, Haaland dismissed being called “the most valuable player in the world”, but acknowledged the sensational season he is living with the Manchester club.

City were champions of the Premier League and the FA Cup this year and could win the Champions League this Saturday to close the Triple Crown. The decision against Inter Milan takes place from 4 pm (Brasília time), in Istanbul.

“We are one step away from making history. Winning the Champions League is a dream and I will do everything I can for that. Without me, this team won everything but the Champions League, I came here in part for that. […] It was the best season of my career.”

Haaland, however, is experiencing an uneven sequence in terms of artillery and has only scored once in the last seven games. For the Norwegian, this is not a nuisance.

“I don’t think about it. You can think that I scored 52 goals or that I scored one in seven. I don’t really care,” he commented.
