Fiorentina’s Biraghi gets eight stitches after being hit with a glass in the Conference League
Fiorentina have said their captain Cristiano Biraghi received eight stitches after fans hit him with a glass during the 2022/2023 Conference League final against English side West Ham. The condition became known to the press service of the team.
The Italian team said they condemn the behavior of the fans. They stressed that objects in Biraghi were thrown from the stands of West Ham fans. Fiorentina stressed that UEFA must punish the perpetrators and this would be an instructive reaction.
During the match, the fans smashed Biraghi’s head with a glass. He received a cut, because of which the referees had to stop the match.
West Ham won the Conference League. The decisive meeting ended with the score 2:1.
