O Manchester City overthrew the Real Madrid as Europe’s most valuable club, according to a report published on Thursday. The survey came out two days before coach Josep Guardiola’s team faced the Inter Milan na final da Champions League.
The report Football Benchmark establishes a ranking of the 32 main clubs on the European continent according to a series of criteria, which include financial condition, squad value and relevance in the broadcasting market.
City is first on the list with an estimated value of 4.07 billion euros (R$ 21.40 billion at current exchange rates), surpassing the 4.00 billion euros (R$ 21.04 billion) of Real Madrid, second place.
The Spanish club has held the position of most valuable in Europe for the last four years. Compared to last year’s list, Manchester City rose five places, mainly thanks to the financial results of the 2021-2022 financial year, points out the report.
Third in the ranking is Manchester United, with 3.93 billion euros (R$ 20.65 billion), ahead of Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
