Vietnam captain dreams of swapping jerseys with Marta at World Cup

Vietnam does not have great pretensions in the dispute of the Women’s Soccer World Cup, but captain Tran Thi Thuy Trang already envisions a special moment in the competition that will be disputed in Australia and New Zealand. The athlete carries the desire to meet Marta, a reference of the Brazil and the world in modality.

Trang said that if she could change her shirt with a personality from the Worlds, she would choose the Brazilian one. “This exchange would have to be with Marta”, said the player, in an interview with the official website of the Women’s World Cup.

Marta is no longer in her physical prime. The 37-year-old Brazilian recently suffered a serious injury and is trying to regain her rhythm. It will probably be the last participation of Brazil’s shirt number 10 in World Cups. Still, the attacking midfielder earns plenty of praise from the Vietnam captain.

“I’m a huge fan of hers! I know she is older now, but she is still in great shape and has excellent skills,” added Trang.
