Olympic medalist in artistic gymnastics Maria Paseka complained of criticism because of her work as a coach in China. She spoke about this in an interview with the YouTube channel “Three Corners”.
The athlete said that before her departure to China, a program was aired on the Match TV channel in which she was considered an enemy of the country. Apiary appreciated this criticism with the phrase “What are you doing there, completely cuckoo?”.
“There was a guest there, and now he said a thing: there were no offers in Russia, and why should a person refuse to work in another country? I don’t change citizenship. I love my country,” said the gymnast. She added that she temporarily went to work abroad to learn something new.
In May 2022, it was revealed that Paseka would work as a coach for the Chinese national team. The 27-year-old Russian woman is preparing the team for the 2024 Games.
Pasika is a four-time Olympic medalist. She also has two gold medals at the World Championships and three at the European Championships.
