Seven people disappeared in the vicinity of Novaya Kakhovka after the destruction of the hydroelectric power station. This was announced by the mayor of the city Vladimir Leontiev in the Telegram channel.
He stressed that the operational headquarters, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the police, utilities and emergency services, the administration continue their work in the district.
According to Leontiev, now the water level in the city has fallen by 35 centimeters.
He added that about 500 people were transported from flood zones to safe areas, 17 people were rescued yesterday from the roofs of flooded houses by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and administration workers.
Recall that on the night of June 6, the upper part of the hydroelectric power station was destroyed as a result of shelling, the dam of the Kakhovka reservoir itself survived. It was noted that 14 settlements on the right bank of the Dnieper were under the threat of flooding. In the risk zone – 22 thousand inhabitants, specified the head of the government of the Kherson region Andrey Alekseenko. Groups of rescuers left for Novaya Kakhovka, Golaya Pristan and Alyoshki. The state of emergency has been introduced on the territory of the Novokakhovka urban district, the press service of the city administration reported. Authorities in Nova Kakhovka reported that residents of about 300 houses had been evacuated.
In the Kremlin, the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was called a deliberate sabotage of Kyiv.
