This Tuesday, Atlético de Madrid announced, through its social networks, the suspension of three partners involved in the case of racism against Vinícius Juniordo Real Madrididentified by the Spanish Anti-Violence Commission.
Atlético fans hung a dummy hanging from a bridge in the Spanish capital with the Brazilian striker’s shirt. The episode took place hours before the Madrid derby, valid for the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey in Spain.
Three partners provisionally suspended indefinitely for their alleged involvement in a hate crime.

“Following the identification and proposed sanction by the Anti-Violence Commission of those allegedly responsible for the disgusting and inadmissible act that took place on the eve of the Copa del Rey derby against Real Madrid, and verification by the club that three of them are members of ‘Grada de Animación’, Atlético de Madrid, in accordance with its internal regulations, has decided to provisionally suspend their status as members for an indefinite period, while the case is resolved in court”, reads the statement.
The club’s decision takes place after the Spanish Anti-Violence Commission having suggested, last Monday, that fans who committed acts of racism against Vinícius Júnior receive “fines of 60,000 euros (R$ 316,000 at current exchange rates)” and no longer be allowed to enter “sports venues for a period of two years”.
