Monaco Alexander Golovin sacked head coach Philippe Clement

The Monaco football club, for which the Russian midfielder Alexander Golovin plays, fired head coach Philippe Clement. This was reported on the official website of the team.

The club called the resignation of the Belgian specialist a necessity. The management of Monaco was not satisfied with the results in the 2022/2023 season. The team finished sixth in the Ligue 1 standings, two positions behind the European Cup zone. A year ago, the Monegasques became third in the French championship.

Clement took charge of AS Monaco in January 2022. He is also known for his work at Club Brugge and the Belgian national team.

Golovin moved to Monaco in 2018 after the World Cup in Russia. The midfielder’s current contract runs until June 30, 2026. He has made 34 league appearances for the club this season, scoring eight goals and making seven assists.
