Levante takes a step towards the promotion play-off final after beating Albacete (1-3)
Levante took a big step towards the final of the play-off for promotion to the First Division after beat Albacete 1-3 at the Carlos Belmonte the game of first leg of the semifinals. The second leg will be held on Wednesday June 7 at the Ciutat de Valencia. The winner of the tie will face the winner of the duel between Eibar and Alavés in the final.
The match started well for Albacete, since in minute 17 Djetei scored 1-0 for the manchego team. The goal came with a header from Fuster’s center.
However, the joy did not last long on the local side, because Levante put the tables on the scoreboard in the 30th minute thanks to goal scored by De Frutos (1-1). The player from the visiting team took advantage of a chain error by the Albacete defense.
In addition, in the 33rd minute, the author of the first goal of the match, Djetei, was the protagonist, but in this case for scoring the own goal (1-2). Thus, Levante arrived with an advantage at halftime.
Already in the second part, De Frutos saw the door again and put the score at 1-3 at minute 55; he beat goalkeeper Altube with a shot from outside the box.
Albacete did not give up and tried until the end. He had some scoring chances for the La Mancha team, but failed to pierce the rival goal and the victory corresponded to Levante (1-3).
