Guardiola decrees: “City must win the Champions League”

After winning the FA Cup against rivals Manchester United, Manchester City could clinch a historic treble next week. The challenge will be against Inter Milan in the final of the Champions League, in Istanbul.

Coach Pep Guardiola made clear the importance of the duel to Manchester City’s history. The victory will crown the great season of the English team, which also won the Premier League.

“We had an incredible season, but we never won the Champions League. It’s a privilege to reach two finals in three years, it’s incredible, but in the end you have to win the Champions League to show your worth”, he said.

If you lift the ‘Ear’, City will equal United’s triple crown in the 1998/1999 season, when they won the English Championship, the FA Cup and the Champions League in the same year.
