Striker Rafael Leão renewed, this Friday (2), until June 2028 his contract with Milan, the team in which the 23-year-old Portuguese player has been playing since 2019.
The former player from Sporting Lisbon, the club that revealed him, and from Lille (2018-19) had just one more year left on his contract and was one of the most beloved by the ‘Rossoneri’, after two great seasons in which Milan won the ‘scudetto’ in May 2022 and reached the semifinals of Champions League this season.

“AC Milan and Rafael Leão continue their path together”, announced the club from Lombardy on their website, without making public the financial conditions of the renewal of this contract, which would be accompanied by a major reassessment of the player’s salary, according to the Italian press.
His salary would go from a fixed base of 1.4 million euros per year (R$ 7.4 million at current prices) to around 5 million euros (R$ 26.5 million) to which he would add bonuses that would reach a remuneration of 6.5 to 7 million euros (R$ 34.5 to 37.2 million), according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Milan club would also have included a release clause of 175 million euros (R$ 930 million), which can be exercised by a club that intends to buy Rafael Leão during a summer transfer market, says the sports newspaper.
