Averbukh spoke about the contribution of Kostomarov’s wife to his recovery

Ilya Averbukh said that his wife Oksana Domnina is with Roman Kostomarov every day

Choreographer Ilya Averbukh spoke about the contribution of Roman Kostomarov’s wife Oksana Domnina to the restoration of the Olympic champion in ice dancing. His words are reported by TASS.

“Roma is a real fighter, Oksana is with him every day, which is very important for him, she gives him great support,” Averbukh said and called Kostomarov a real hero.

The choreographer added that it is worth believing only the information that the athlete himself publishes. “Everything that comes from Telegram channels and allegedly knowledgeable persons cannot be trusted, this is speculation and making money on the mountain,” he stressed.

On May 8, Kostomarov published his first appeal after hospitalization. “Thanks to everyone who worried about me, prayed for me, believed that I would get out of this difficult situation that life had given me,” the skater wrote. He also thanked his family, friends and doctors.

Kostomarov was admitted to the hospital on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to a long connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die. According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, doctors had to amputate both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire right hand, and several fingers of the left hand.
