TASS: Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov, who is in the hospital, does not have depression

There are new details about the state of the Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov. This is reported by a TASS source.

The source denied that the 46-year-old athlete had depression. “The mood is normal, although, of course, there are differences – after all, he has been in the hospital for four months,” he said.

It also became known that Kostomarov’s preparation for prosthetics continues. “Operations on the legs have already been carried out, the healing stage is underway. As for the hands, there are still a number of preparatory activities and subsequent healing, ”the source said.

Earlier, Izvestia reported that prosthetics for Kostomarov are planned to be done in Russia. Foreign specialists can be involved in operations, and prostheses can also be brought from abroad.

Kostomarov was admitted to the hospital on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to a long connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die. According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, the doctors had to amputate both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the right hand, and several fingers of the left hand.
