Manchester City will receive a record prize for winning the English Premier League (EPL). The amount became known to the Daily Mail.
Josep Guardiola’s team earned £166m. It is noted that the remuneration consists of several elements and includes funds from television contracts and bonuses for regular live broadcasts on television, a share of the league’s commercial profits and the amount for the final position in the standings.
Prize-winning teams have become a record for the Premier League. In the 2021/2022 season, the citizens earned 153 million pounds.
Manchester City won the title ahead of schedule on 20 May. The English club for the third time in a row and for the ninth time in history became the winner of the national championship.
On June 10, Manchester City will play Inter Milan in the Champions League final. The match will take place at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
