Mourinho misses out on future at Roma and claims to be focused on the Europa League final

This Thursday, six days before the decision of the Europa League against Sevillathe coach of Roma, José Mourinho, gave a press conference and avoided talking about his future with the club. For the Portuguese, with the final close at hand, this is not the focus now, as well as this weekend’s match against Fiorentina, which is in the background.

“Prepare a little for Fiorentina (this Saturday’s game), just a little, and think only about Wednesday’s final”, he commented.

Mourinho’s future has been the subject of speculation since news emerged about a possible attrition between the coach and the team’s general director, Tiago Pinto. The Portuguese stated that he does not think about it at the moment.

“My future and everything else is secondary when playing a final. There is no reason for pessimism, there is no reason for optimism, there is no reason for anything. We really want to play this final, we fought a lot. And it’s not for that thing of that if we win we enter the Champions League, I don’t want to know about that”, he highlighted.

The coach also recalled the campaign of 14 games so far in the Europa League and valued each achievement until reaching the 15th and decisive duel.

“We played with Ludogorets and came back here at seven in the morning. In Helsinki (Finland) it was freezing cold. We went to Seville to face Betis with the risk of being eliminated if we lost. RB Salzburg came from the Champions League, Real Sociedad had a top season in Spain. We lost players, others had to play in positions that weren’t theirs, we launched a boy like Bove. In the semifinals, Leverkusen, another Champions team. Now, we are very happy to play in this final”, analyzed.
