Liverpool will miss the 2023/2024 Champions League for the first time in seven years due to Manchester United’s victory
For the first time in seven years since 2016, Liverpool will not play in the Champions League after Manchester United’s victory over Chelsea. Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle will represent the Premier League in the 2023/2024 Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp’s team is fifth in the Premier League table with 66 points. One round before the end of the championship, the Merseysiders guaranteed themselves participation in the Europa League in the 2023/2024 season.
Previously, Manchester United beat Chelsea in a home match and scored 72 points. The match ended with the score 4:1. The hosts opened the scoring: already in the 6th minute Casemiro scored a goal. Also goals scored by Anthony Martial (45+5), Bruno Fernandes (73, from penalties) and Marcus Rashford (78). The guests scored a goal by Joao Felix in the 89th minute.
