UFC fighter Khamzat Chimaev said he expects a fight with Usman in October in Abu Dhabi
Swedish mixed martial arts fighter (MMA) Khamzat Chimaev spoke on a YouTube channel about a possible duel with the former champion of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) American Kamaru Usman.
Chimaev shared that he expects a duel in October in Abu Dhabi. “I’m already in Dubai, I live here, I train, everything is fine. I have been in good shape for a long time,” he said.
“I will make sure this is his last fight. He wants money and knows where to find it. Everyone knows this, ”said the Swede and added that he would smash the opponent’s face and win an early victory over him. According to Chimaev, after that he will have to give a title fight in the UFC.
Earlier, the head of the UFC, Dana White, spoke about the fight. He stressed that the promotion is doing everything to organize the fight, but they are against holding it in catchweight.
Usman is a former UFC welterweight champion. He defended the title six times, after which he lost to Briton Leon Edwards twice in a row. In total, the American has 20 wins with three defeats.
Chimaev in his professional career had 12 fights without suffering a single defeat. In the last fight on September 10, 2022, he defeated Kevin Holland.
