President of the Spanish Federation admits that there is a “problem of racism” in the country

The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, manifested himself this Monday morning after the racial insults suffered by Vinícius Júnior, of Real Madrid. The leader stated that it is necessary to recognize that there is a “problem of racism” in the country.

“We have a problem, the first thing is to recognize that we have a problem of behavior, education, racism,” said Rubiales, at the organization’s headquarters.

The RFEF president added: “As long as there is a single fan, a single undesirable or group of undesirables, who insults because of their sexual condition, skin color or creed, we have a serious problem. A problem for an entire team, a fan base, a club , A country”.

“Vinicius and any athlete, man or woman, who suffers an insult, in this case for racism, but also for sexual orientation or creed, has my support and that of the RFEF. We are here to support and help them. And to ask them to help us improve”, completed Rubiales.

The president of the RFEF also informed that the Committee of La Liga will act and is convinced that it should adopt sanctions.

Rubiales also invited the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, to visit the headquarters of the RFEF. The Brazilian leader was one of the characters to take a position on the case and demanded punishment from the Spanish authorities.

“There are few countries in the world that admire and respect Brazilian football like Spain. I want to ask the president of the Confederation (Ednaldo) to come to the RFEF headquarters, to participate, see what this federation does about this situation”, he declared.

The president of the RFEF insisted that what happened demands a “firm response” from the Federation. “If a sanction is determined, which the club itself has to assume, let it not delay with time-consuming procedures. Together, we will solve it, with responsibility, with zero tolerance, with joint work and, I repeat, with the affection and respect not only for football.
