In addition to the meeting this morning, the merengue club acted against the case of racism in Spanish justice. In an official note, Real Madrid repudiated the acts and reported that it had filed a complaint with the State Attorney General for hate crimes and discrimination.

The team relied on Article 124 of the Spanish Constitution to trigger the body. The team also stated that the facts are characterized as a “direct attack” on the model of coexistence of the social and democratic State.

Vini Jr. was the victim of racial insults this Sunday, in Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat by Valencia, for the 35th round of the Spanish Championship. At 25 minutes of the second half, fans chanted racist chants directed at the striker. The player identified one of the fans who offended him and had to be held by his teammates.

After the end of the confrontation, La Liga promised that it will investigate the case and, for that, requested “all available images to investigate what happened”. The institution also says that “it has filed nine complaints in the last two seasons before the RFEF Competitions Committee, the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport, in addition to the Public Ministry of Hate and Courts”.

After the episode, several sports characters supported Vinícius Júnior. Among them, the president of Fifa, Gianni Infantino, the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, the former player Ronaldo Fenômeno, the stars Neymar and Mbappé, coach Carlo Ancelotti and the President of the Republic, Lula. Vini Jr. he also vented and demanded “actions and punishments” from the directors of La Liga.
