Forward of the Moscow “Spartak” Alexander Sobolev in his Telegram channel commented on his obscene gesture in the match of the 28th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) against the capital’s CSKA.
The footballer apologized for his intemperance and called his behavior inadmissible. “The screens had children, women and all the fans who love football. I’m really sorry,” he said, emphasizing that this will not happen again.
The derby took place on May 21 and ended with the score 2:1 in favor of Spartak. The first goal in the 37th minute was scored by army midfielder Jesus Medina. Three minutes later, striker Quincy Promes equalized. In the 65th minute, Sobolev was sent off for an obscene gesture, along with him, Rosha received a red card. Promes set the final score in the 90th minute.
Thus, after 28 matches, CSKA is in second place in the RPL standings, with 54 points. Spartak is in third place with 53 points. St. Petersburg “Zenith” became the champion ahead of schedule with 65 points.
In the next round, CSKA will play away with Krasnodar on May 27, and Spartak will host Paris Nizhny Novgorod a day later.
