RIA Novosti revealed the content of the declaration for the admission of Russian weightlifters to tournaments
The content of the declaration of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), which Russian athletes refused to sign in order to be admitted to tournaments, has become known. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“I undertake to continue to refrain from expressing any support for the special operation and will immediately and voluntarily notify any relevant changes in my activities that occur after the date of this statement,” the fifth paragraph of the document, which came into the possession of the publication, reads.
Earlier on May 20, the IWF announced that Russian weightlifters had rejected the declaration for admission to the Grand Prix stage in Cuba. The athletes refused to sign the document, so they will miss the tournament.
The admission of Russians to competitions under the auspices of the IWF became known on May 12. To obtain neutral status, athletes must confirm the absence of ties with the armed forces, state security agencies, and also prove that they have never previously spoken out in support of events in Ukraine.
