Athletic takes the three points in San Mamés beating Celta (2-1)
He Athletic Club has won 2-1 against Celta de Vigo the match played this Saturday in San Mamés on the 35th round of Santander League. The people from Bilbao wanted to show that they are still fighting for the European places and they have done so by clearly winning a match in which it could have been a win, but which was decided by two goals from Inaki Williams and Alex Berenguer.

The party has quickly turned in favor of the lions. Athletic began testing the ground, and in the midst of that controlled start the first goal of the match came. To the delight of San Mamés, Athletic reacted well to the draw and took the lead again with the Berenguer’s goal. After several occasions in which the ball has passed through the area, the Navarrese has received the ball, has escaped from two defenders and has shot at the far post to score the second for his team (2-1).
In the 69th minute he almost scored another with a right hand that ran into the post.
With 10 minutes to go, Ander Herrera and Dani García have had to leave the field due to discomfort. Oier Zarraga and Mikel Vesga have entered in his place.
But the match had already been decided and Athletic took three points that put them in the table. 7th place in the classification.
