Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov began to prepare for discharge. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.

According to the source, the 46-year-old athlete regularly travels to recovery classes, and also does exercises in the intensive care unit. He is expected to be discharged at the end of May.

On May 12, Izvestia reported that Kostomarov was being prepared for prosthetics, which is planned to be done in Russia. It was noted that foreign specialists could be involved in the operations, and prostheses could also be brought from abroad.

Kostomarov was admitted to the hospital on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to a long connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die. According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, the doctors had to amputate both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the right hand, and several fingers of the left hand.
