Lyon received Monaco this Friday, at the Groupama Stadium, for the 36th round of the French Championship, and walked away with the win. The visitors even took the lead, but the home team managed to come back 3-1.
The result gives Lyon another breath, which continues to dream of a place in some European competition. The club did not leave seventh place, but now has 59 points and touches Lille, fifth, with 60 units. Monaco, in turn, is in fourth place with 56 added.
The teams return to the field only on the 27th, at 4 pm (BrasÃlia time). While Lyon host Reims, Monaco visit Rennes.
The first goal of the match came in the first half, in the first minute. Anthony Lopes committed a foul inside the area and the referee signaled a penalty. Wissam Ben Yedder took responsibility, went to the ball and converted for Monaco.
Lyon’s response came in the 39th minute, when Bradley Barcola rolled the ball to Alexandre Lacazette, who finished and equalised.
In the second stage, at 12 minutes, Maxence Caqueret took advantage of the rebound and sent it in the left angle to turn everything around. Finally, at 33 minutes, Rayan Cherki made a beautiful individual move and shot towards the goal to close the scoring. The ball still hit the post before entering and goalkeeper Alexander Nubel could do nothing.
