The head coach of the national team Elena Chaikovskaya explained why the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) refused to change the sports citizenship of Dario Chirizano. She is quoted by Match TV.
“The situation is clear. He is a member of the national team, he played all season, we don’t let him go, ”she said and added that a lot of money was invested in the athlete. Chaikovskaya noted that Chirizano needs to endure quarantine, after which he will be able to make a second request for a change of citizenship.
On May 18, it became known that the FFKKR executive committee did not approve Chirizano’s transfer to the Czech national team. Previously, he teamed up with Czech figure skater Deniz Tsimlova. The duo plans to train at the Montreal Ice Dance Academy.
