Bruno Guimarães scores as Newcastle beat Brighton in the Premier League

This Thursday, Newcastle hosted Brighton in a late match for the 25th round of the Premier League and won the confrontation by 4 to 1. Deniz Undav (against), Dan Burn, Callum Wilson and Bruno Guimarães scored for the home team, while Undav himself decreased in the second stage.

With the result, Newcastle reached 69 points, opened three in relation to Manchester United and established itself in third place in the table. Brighton, on the other hand, loses the chance to touch the G5, continues in sixth and has 58 points.

Newcastle is back on the field now on Monday to receive Leicester, at 4 pm (Brasília time). On the other hand, Brighton go home and face Southampton on Sunday at 10 am.

The game

Newcastle dominated the first half in terms of chances created and reached the opposing area with more danger. With that, in the 22nd minute, the score was opened by the home team with an own goal by striker Deniz Undav after a corner kicked by Trippier. After going behind on the scoreboard, Brighton held the ball more in their feet, but could do little before the break. Already in additions, Dan Burn extended to the home team.

On the way back from the locker room, six minutes into the final stage, Deniz Undav made up for the initial stumbling block and scored his own goal to close the gap. However, the visiting team failed to reach equality on the scoreboard and created few chances for that. Meanwhile, Brighton saw the opponent finish 21 times in 90 minutes and settle the game in the final stretch with two lightning goals from Callum Wilson and Bruno Guimarães.
