This Thursday, the Brazilian Rodrygo used his social networks to lament the elimination of the Real Madrid of the semifinals Europe Champions League. On Wednesday, the Spanish club was thrashed 4-0 by Manchester City, in England, and, with the aggregate score adding up to 5 to 1 for the English, said goodbye to the competition. The attacker also thanked the support of the merengue fans and said that the team will come back stronger.
“If you’re used to winning, moments like this are very difficult. But we’ll come back… even stronger. Madridistas, thank you for all your support! Real Madrid never give up!”, wrote the 22-year-old.

Rodrygo was in the starting line-up and played for 80 minutes, being replaced by Dani Ceballos when the scoreboard at Etihad Stadium was still 3-0 for the hosts. He was also in the starting eleven in the first leg as the teams drew 1-1.
Current champion and biggest winner, with 14 titles, Real Madrid said goodbye to the walk in search of lifting the continental trophy for the 15th time. In turn, Manchester City is still alive in the dream of winning the “Ears” for the first time in its history – it was runner-up to Chelsea in 2020/21.
The big decision, between Citizens and Internazionale, takes place on June 10 (Saturday), at 4 pm (Brasília time), at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, in Istanbul, Turkey. The Italians are trying to win the tournament for the fourth time – they won it in 1963/64, 1964/65 and 2009/10.
With no more titles to dispute in the season, therefore, Rodrygo and Real Madrid are now in the final rounds of the Spanish Championship, won by rival Barcelona last Sunday. For the 35th round, the Merengues visit Valencia, at 1:30 pm on Sunday, at Estádio de Mestalla, in Valencia (ESP). The team from the Spanish capital ends 2022/23 with the King’s Cup title, won by the team after nine years.
