Former defender of Zenit, Ukrainian Yaroslav Rakitsky said that he regrets playing in the Russian championship. His words are quoted by Shakhtar’s official website.
“I am a footballer first and foremost. Football is my job and my life’s work. If I knew that this would happen, I would never have gone to play in Russia, ”said the athlete. He noted that he had decided to break the agreement with the blue-white-blue and return to Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
Rakitskiy left Zenit on March 2, 2022. The player’s contract was terminated by mutual agreement of the parties. After that, the defender joined the Turkish club Adana Demirspor, and in 2023 joined Shakhtar.
