Football player Zozulya criticized Shevchenko for sitting next to Novak Djokovic
Former football player of the Ukrainian national team Roman Zozulya on Instagram (social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) criticized ex-head coach Andriy Shevchenko for sitting next to Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic during the first Champions League semi-final match between Milan and Inter.
“Latent cotton? Stupidity? Double standards? If you are invited to football, and an athlete with frank pro-Russian views is sitting next to him, then a sane Ukrainian with this shit will not sit next to one hectare, ”shevchenko accused of sympathy for Russia. He drew attention to the fact that Djokovic advocated the return of Russian athletes to tournaments.
On April 1, Zozulya denounced the Ukrainian government’s decision to ban its athletes from competing against the Russians in the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. In his opinion, this will bury Ukrainian sport.
Shevchenko led the Ukrainian national team from 2016 to 2021. As a player, he is known for playing for Dynamo Kiev, as well as Milan and Chelsea.
