The Alemão defender, who played for the base categories of the Corinthians, started his first match as a starter for Portimonense this past Friday. The 20-year-old was signed by the Portuguese club earlier this year.
At first, the defender arrived at the team to play in the sub-23, but has been gaining space in the main squad. For Liga Revelação, championship of the category, Alemão played seven games and scored three goals.
“We’re going to keep working hard for these next games. It all depends on the coach, but I’m preparing myself in the best way to conquer my place in the team and gain minutes in the final sequence of Liga Portugal”, highlighted Alemão, who was in the starting line-up in Portimonense’s draw against the Casa Pia by 1 to 1 last Friday.
“Playing here is a very good experience. My first one outside Brazil. It’s a little different, but I’m already adapted. It’s a good experience. We’re learning football more and more here. I intend to fight here to play in the main team in this final stretch of the season. I hope to have more minutes in the next games”, concluded.
Before becoming a professional, the defender played for the sub-15 of Francana, a club in his hometown, and then went to Corinthians, where he became a highlight of the squad and won titles at the base.
