Juventus scores in the last bid and draws with Sevilla in the first leg of the Europa League semifinals

On Thursday afternoon, Juventus e Sevilla faced each other in the first leg of the semifinals of the Europa Leagueat the Allianz Stadium, in Turin (ITA), and drew 1-1. The Spanish team opened the scoring with the Moroccan En-Nesyri, but Gatti, practically in the last shot of the game, left everything the same.

Thus, the dispute for a vacancy in the decision remains completely open. With equality, the winner of the second duel guarantees advancement to the final. If the aggregate score remains tied, the definition will go into overtime and, if equality persists, a penalty shootout will be necessary.

Biggest champion of the tournament, Sevilla seeks the seventh continental title in its history. In turn, Juventus tries the fourth trophy.

Italian and Spanish, therefore, face each other again in the second leg next Thursday, starting at 4 pm (Brasília time), at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium, in Seville (ESP).

Before that, however, both teams have commitments for their respective national championships. For the 34th round of the Spanish season, Sevilla visits Real Valladolid, on Sunday, starting at 1:30 pm, at the José Zorrilla Stadium, in Valladolid (ESP). A little later, starting at 3:45 pm, Juventus will face Cremonese, again at home, for the 35th round of the Italian Championship.

The match between Juventus and Sevilla

Even playing away from home, Sevilla decided to impose itself in the match and, thus, opened the scoring in the 25th minute of the first half. En-Nesyri received a cross from Ocampos and tapped in to make the first for the Spaniards.

The Seville team arrived with danger on other occasions in the initial stage, at 27 minutes, again with En-Nesyri, and at 38 minutes, with a long-range shot by Rakitic, who forced Szczesny to make a good defense.

On the way back from the break, Juventus changed their posture and began to put pressure on the opponent in search of a draw. At 17 minutes, Iling Junior shot low from outside the area, but stopped in Bono’s defense.

Finally, when the Spanish victory seemed inevitable, Juventus managed a last-ditch draw. After a corner kick from the left, Pogba scored with a header and Gatti came in with the ball and everything to even the score.

Roma beat Leverkusen to take the lead

In the other semifinal match this Thursday, Roma received Bayer Leverkusen, at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, in the Italian capital, and won by 1 to 0. The only goal of the game came from the feet of Edoardo Bove, who took advantage of the rebound area and sent in the left corner of the opposing goal.

With that, the Italian team, which dreams of its first Europa League title, opens up an advantage in the match and plays for a tie in the second leg. The Germans, in turn, need to win by one goal difference to take the decision to penalties and will only qualify for the final directly if they manage to build a greater difference in goals.

The second duel between Roma and Bayer Leverkusen is also scheduled to take place at 16:00 next Thursday. This time, the stage will be the BayArena, in Leverkusen (ALE). Both teams, however, also take to the field for their respective national championships at the weekend.
