Moskovsky Komsomolets: Roman Kostomarov is undergoing rehabilitation abroad
Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov went abroad for treatment. This became known to Moskovsky Komsomolets.
According to the source, the 46-year-old athlete was discharged from a Moscow hospital at the end of April and is undergoing rehabilitation abroad, where he will be given prosthetics. At the same time, the Izvestia source did not confirm this information, saying that Kostomarov would be discharged at the end of May.
On May 8, Kostomarov published his first appeal after hospitalization. In it, he thanked the fans, as well as relatives and doctors.
Kostomarov was admitted to the hospital on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to a long connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die. According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, doctors had to amputate both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire right hand, and several fingers of the left hand.
