“It is definitely dangerous to practice in the gym in open shoes, without a heel (it does not fix the foot), as well as in wedge sneakers due to improper distribution of body weight over the foot,” the specialist said. She emphasized that these shoes are only suitable for walking in the city.

Gulyaeva added that the right sneakers should be with a margin of 0.5-1 cm, the cape should not be narrow. She also recommended choosing shoes made from modern synthetic materials that wick away moisture.
Earlier, Gulyaeva explained the rules for choosing sneakers for training in the gym. For strength or functional training, she advised choosing shoes with a flat and stable sole. For step and aerobics, the specialist recommended buying the most shock-absorbing shoes.
