Soligorsk “Shakhtar” was deprived of the title of the champion of Belarus in football in 2022. This was reported on the website of the Belarusian Football Federation (ABFF).
“The Committee on Control, Disciplinary and Ethical Issues of the ABFF considered the information received from the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus that during the championship <...> Among the top league teams, the leadership of FC Shakhtar organized match-fixing, as well as unlawful financial incentives for the top league teams,” the report says.
The team has lost 30 points in the standings this season, another 20 points will be deducted next season. The club was also fined 370,000 Belarusian rubles (more than ten million Russian rubles).
In addition, Energetik-BGU, which became the silver medalist, and Bobruisk Belshina were punished. Shakhtar and Energetik-BGU will not be able to play in European competitions for the 2023/2024 season due to the refusal of the licensing committee to issue UEFA category documents.
BATE was recognized as the winner of the national championship-2022, initially finishing in third position. Dynamo Minsk won the silver medal, Isloch won the bronze medal.
