Khabib Nurmagomedov says his brother Umar will fight in UFC main event
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Khabib Nurmagomedov made a statement on Instagram (a social network banned in Russia; owned by the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) about the future of cousin Umar Nurmagomedov in the promotion.
Khabib Nurmagomedov posted a photo with manager Ali Abdelaziz and said that serious negotiations had been held. He said that soon Umar will fight in the main fight of the UFC tournament.
Earlier, Umar Nurmagomedov complained that none of the representatives of the promotion wanted to fight him. The head of the UFC confirmed this and explained that those who are ahead of the Russian in the ranking do not want to risk their place.
27-year-old Umar Nurmagomedov has 16 wins and no losses in MMA. He has four fights in the UFC.
