TASS: a representative of Chimaev denied the words of the head of the UFC White about the fighter’s refusal to fight
The representative of the Swedish mixed style fighter (MMA) Khamzat Chimaev denied the words of the head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dana White that the athlete refuses the fights offered to him due to personal problems. His words are quoted by TASS.
“Khamzat never refused fights. There is no reason why he is not currently fighting,” the source said. He added that Chimaev is waiting for proposals for fights and is ready to return.
On May 8, White said that personal problems are the only reason why a fighter does not go out to fight in the octagon. “The laws of our business are known: we must give athletes three bouts a year. If this does not happen, we are obliged to pay them, ”the functionary explained.
Chimaev in his professional career had 12 fights without suffering a single defeat. In the last fight on September 10, 2022, he defeated Kevin Holland.
