CSKA player Konstantin Kuchaev said that football in Russia is more popular than figure skating
CSKA player Konstantin Kuchaev compared the popularity of football and figure skating in Russia. His words are reported by Sport-Express.
The midfielder of the Moscow club said that there is more interest in football than in figure skating. “But I still have a circle of friends – mostly football players and people who follow him,” he said.
25-year-old Kuchaev has been playing for CSKA since 2017. In the current season of the Russian Premier League, he played 11 matches, in which he scored two goals and five assists.
Earlier, the popularity of these two sports was compared by two-time world champion in women’s singles Evgenia Medvedeva. “It is clear that in our country our own Cristiano Ronaldo or our own Messi has not yet been born. But let’s remember that any sport is hard as hell, ”she said and added that football and figure skating are currently at about the same level of interest among Russian viewers.
