Russian citizen Jamal Abu Haswan died in the Gaza Strip as a result of shelling by the Israel Defense Forces, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the representative of the Palestinian Ministry of Health Ashraf al-Kedr.

Muawiya Yakob, a friend of the deceased Russian, told the agency that a rocket hit the apartment where Abu Haswan lived with his wife and son, as a result, all three died.

In total, at least ten people were killed in the Gaza Strip, several more were injured, their number is currently unknown, Al Jazeera TV channel reports, citing the Ministry of Health. Sky News Arabia, citing the agency, claims that nine Palestinians were killed. In addition, the attack destroyed the top floor of a residential apartment building in Gaza and a residential building in the city of Rafah, Politico writes, citing eyewitnesses.

On Tuesday night, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on its Telegram channel that it had launched strikes against Islamic Jihad (a terrorist organization whose activities are banned in Russia) in Gaza. This operation was called “Shield and Arrow”.
