Inter Milan beats Roma and touches vice-leader Lazio; Milan wins and approaches the G4

The 2023 Italian Championship is decided only for the champion Napoli, since the G4, which classifies the teams to the Champions League, is not defined. This Saturday, Inter Milan beat Roma 2-0 with goals from Dimarco and Lukaku.

The victory leaves Internazionale in fourth place, with 63 points, just one point behind vice-leader Lazio and tied with Juventus, who are in third. Roma, on the other hand, have 58 points and are in seventh place.

Inter entered the field knowing they needed to win to secure their place in Serie A’s G4. Milan won the Lazio by 2 to 0. Bennacer opened the scoring and Theo Hernández doubled in the first half.

Milan reached 61 points, is currently in fifth place and is also approaching Lazio in the table. The Roman team has 64 points and is in danger of losing second place to Juventus in this round. The Turin team duels with Atalanta, away from home, this Sunday, at 7:30 am (from Brasilia). If he wins, the Old Lady moves up to second position.

Milan’s next commitment is for the first leg of the Champions League semifinals against Internazionale. The first game takes place this Wednesday, at 4 pm (Brasília time), at the San Siro. Lazio, on the other hand, remains focused on the Italian and will receive Lecce next Friday, at 3:45 pm.

Rafael Leão is injured, and Milan beat Lazio

Right at the beginning of the match, Milan got scared when Rafael Leão felt his leg after a tackle with goalkeeper Ivan Provedel and had to be substituted. Despite the concern for their star player, the Milan team had a strong first half and opened the scoring in the 17th minute with Ismaël Bennacer after Lazio’s mistake in the ball exit and Giroud’s assist. Shortly after, at 29 minutes, Theo Hernández increased the scoring with a great goal in the left corner of the opponent’s goal.

In the final stage, the game cooled down, but Milan continued to be superior and did not give chances to an unrecognizable Lazio that did not pose any danger to the opposing goal. Rebić even scored the third for the hosts, but the move was disallowed for offside.
